Description
This is the highest honor of the competition. It recognizes groundbreaking ceramic-based creations that integrate material experimentation, craft innovation, and cultural expression, while embodying an international perspective and Eastern aesthetics. Open to ceramic artists and interdisciplinary creators worldwide, the award encourages pushing the boundaries of ceramic language while engaging with the spirit of our time in a contemporary context.

A. For cultural and creative design (one winner)
Description
This award encourages creators to bridge traditional symbols with contemporary expression using ceramics. It rewards artworks that merge cultural narratives with market-oriented creativity, aiming to develop ceramic cultural products with narrative depth, trendy aesthetics, and commercial viability, ultimately bringing the ceramic craft to everyday life and the consumer culture.

(1) Cash reward: RMB 30,000. (2) Exhibition and display: The winning artwork will be exhibited and promoted at the Taoxichuan cultural flagship store and collaborative design exhibitions.
B. For industrial design (one winner)
Description
Focusing on the functionality and aesthetic innovation of everyday ceramics, this award encourages industrial designers to integrate ceramics into modern lifestyles. It emphasizes sustainable design, technical advancement, and market adaptability, supporting the creation of ceramic products with refined aesthetics and mass-production potential, so as to enhance the relevance and practical value of ceramics in daily life.
Prizes & opportunities
(1) Cash reward: RMB 30,000. (2) Industry partnership: Product sampling and mass production for the winning artwork will be promoted with Taoxichuan and partner companies.
5. Tradition & Innovation Award (two winners)
Description
This award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the preservation and modern evolution of traditional ceramic crafts. Winners are expected to systematically preserve and innovate endangered ceramic crafts, staying true to traditional essence while driving contemporary development. Their contributions should encompass craft restoration, talent cultivation, and cross-cultural dissemination, with the goal of facilitating the internationalization of traditional craftsmanship.

(1) Cash reward: RMB 30,000 for each winner. (2) Co-branding: Winners will have the opportunities to partner with brands in co-developing products.
Learn moreII. Eligibility & Entry Requirements
1. Eligibility: Open to individual and group candidates (excluding commercial entities) aged 18 or above, regardless of nationality. Group entries are limited to a maximum of five members.
2. Submitted artworks must use ceramics as the primary medium. Each candidate may submit only one artwork or one series of artworks.
3. Originality: All artworks must be original creations completed within the past three years (June 2022 – June 2025). Adaptations, reproductions, or concept plagiarism will not be accepted.
4. Submission by category: Candidates must submit their artworks under one of the above-mentioned categories, namely, Interdisciplinary Experiment Award, Emerging Creative Award, Creative Design Award A/B, and Tradition & Innovation Award.
5. The artworks must not contain hazardous materials, prohibited substances, or living organisms.
III. Nomination Mechanism
Each "nominating committee member" can nominate up to three artworks (at least one), which will directly proceed to the re-evaluation stage of the corresponding award category.
IV. Evaluation Process
1. Preliminary evaluation: online evaluation.
2. Re-evaluation: online evaluation.
3. Final evaluation: on-site evaluation.

V. Artwork Requirements
1. All the submitted artworks must be safe for transportation and exhibition.
2. The length, width, and height of a single artwork must not exceed 1.5 meters, and the weight must not exceed 50 kilograms.
3. If a submitted artwork wins another competition, undergoes ownership change, or is damaged after submission or during the evaluation process, the candidate must notify the Organizing Committee immediately via email to withdraw it.
4. No modifications are allowed after submission.
VI. Submission
1. Time: Submission starts immediately. Artworks must be submitted by 23:59 (Beijing Time), July 30. Please download the application materials from the official website www.JingdezhenPrize.com, and send completed documents to info@jingdezhenprize.com.
2. Candidates must complete and submit the Registration Form and sign the Authorization and License Statement. Nominated candidates must complete the Nominated Artwork Information Form and sign the Authorization and License Statement.
3. All the submitted information will be used only for the Jingdezhen Prize. Only the Organizing Committee, evaluation panel, and official partners will have access. Only the awarded and shortlisted artworks will be displayed in the offline exhibition.
4. Each candidate may submit only one piece or one series of artworks.
VII. Artwork Shipping and Return
1. Both the preliminary evaluation and the re-evaluation will be online and therefore don't require the shipping of artworks. The shortlisted candidates must ship their physical artworks to Jingdezhen by October 8, 2025. Please refer to the official website for detailed arrangements. Late arrivals will be deemed a withdrawal from the competition.
2. Shipping costs and customs duties are the candidates' responsibility.The submitted artworks must not contain any prohibited items. Candidates will bear full responsibility for any consequences.
3. Artworks that do not arrive on time or cannot be shipped will be disqualified.
4. After the exhibition, the artworks will be returned to their original addresses. Return shipping costs will be covered by the Organizing Committee.
5. The Organizing Committee is responsible for any damage incurred between exhibition setup and return. Outside of this period, liability lies with candidates.
6. Exhibition formats are at the discretion of the Organizing Committee. Damaged artworks may be excluded from exhibition.
VIII. Terms & Declarations
1. Participation implies full acceptance of these rules. Any violation will result in disqualification.
2. Candidates must ensure their artwork is original and legally owned by the themselves, with full intellectual property rights. Candidates bear all legal liability for any infringement of third-party rights.
3. Award winners shall not disclose or publish any event-related information without prior authorization.
4. Under equal conditions, the Organizing Committee reserves the right of first refusal to acquire the submitted artworks.
5. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to revise the competition rules, with any updates published on the official website.
6. Awarded and shortlisted candidates shall grant the Organizing Committee a one-year exclusive, global, royalty-free license for exhibition, promotion, and internal use of their artworks by official partners. This license is non-commercial in nature. Candidates may withdraw authorization at any time, which will automatically terminate their eligibility in the competition.
