The Interdisciplinary Experiment Award is designed to recognize outstanding creators who break the traditional boundaries of ceramic crafts and redefine the possibilities of handicrafts from an interdisciplinary perspective. It encourages creators to break industry barriers and establish innovative dialogues between handicrafts and other fields through experimental integration of materials, techniques, and concepts.
Artists, designers, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams worldwide whose works center on ceramics while incorporating attributes from other disciplines and employing emerging materials and concepts.
1.The work must use ceramics as the core medium, focusing on the creative combination of ceramics with other fields and achieving truly groundbreaking interdisciplinary innovation, rather than simple combinations at a superficial level. 2. The work should have a clear creative concept that retains the unique aesthetic qualities of ceramic materials while pursuing innovative interdisciplinary approaches.
1. Cash reward: RMB 30,000 for each winner; 2.Creative residency: Six-month free residency at the Taoxichuan Art Studio (with workspace and basic technical support provided); 3.Curated exhibition: The winning works will be featured in an exhibition at the Taoxichuan Art Gallery in Jingdezhen or partner agencies.
Note: Please make sure that the submitted works meet the criteria specified for the award applied for. Applicants should be at least 18 years old. The works can be created individually or collectively, with ceramics as the main medium. All submitted works should be original, and have never been publicly released in the last three years, used in other competitions, exhibited and commercially published on any platform. Adaptations, reproductions, or works that closely mimic existing concepts will not be accepted. Each "nominating committee member" can nominate 3 works, which will directly proceed to the re-evaluation stage.
